Some More Random Displays of God's Awesomeness

For about twelve days now I've been committed to reading the bible in ninety days. Its been a great experience and it feels awesome to commit to doing something consistently for God. I've had some wonderful blessings this week, as God has provided me with a couple different opportunities to share about Him with some of the kids I work with. One kid in particular seems to really be benefiting from these discussions and has really been focusing on relying on God, worrying about nothing but praying about everything. This teen has so much on his plate to deal with and its been very inspiring to watch him begin to surrender control to God. However, one goofy quark about witnessing to this population is that one of these kids I've been having these talks with told me that he's starting have . . . special feelings for me. And by special, I mean inappropriate. AWKWARD! So that kinda throws a wrench into things a bit . . . We've also been having a group come to our campus to run the ALPHA Course, a program designed to introduce adults and teens to Christ in a way that's very casual, comprehensive, and entertaining. One of my kids has been participating, and his progress in general has been outstanding as he's learned more about God. Hmm, coincidence? NO! This particular kid has been in placement for about two years, and has been plateaued for a very long time. He has made more strides in the past ten weeks that he's been in ALPHA Course than he has the entire two years he's spent in treatment! AMAZING! The course is being wrapped up this weekend with an overnight stay at Camp Tecumpseh. I was so excited to send him on his little trip! It's the first time he's stayed outside of the cottage since being admitted! Yep. God rocks!
Ephesians 2:1-10 As for you, you were dead in your transgressions and sins, in which you used to live when you followed the ways of this world and of the ruler of the kingdom of the air, the spirit who is now at work in those who are disobedient. All of us also lived among them at one time, gratifying the cravings of our sinful nature and following its desires and thoughts. Like the rest, we were by nature objects of wrath. But because of his great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy, made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in transgressions—it is by grace you have been saved. And God raised us up with Christ and seated us with him in the heavenly realms in Christ Jesus, in order that in the coming ages he might show the incomparable riches of his grace, expressed in his kindness to us in Christ Jesus. For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— not by works, so that no one can boast. For we are God's workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.
